All of Life is Lived Before & For God

Many young people, and some not so young, struggle to recognize God in every part of their week.

But that shouldn’t be surprising based on a modern education system that seeks to compartmentalize faith into increasingly small and private areas of life.

Give your children the holistic education you wish you had, the kind that leads to a deeply rooted, Christ-centered faith. The Classical Christian education approach is proven to cultivate a cohesive worldview that acknowledges Jesus’ lordship over every inch of creation (not just the four walls of your local church or home) and every second of time (not just during a prayer over a meal).

So much more than just adding a Bible class and chapel, here’s what sets Providence Academy’s faith approach apart and why that will provide a superior, formative faith experience for your student:

Our Distinctives:
An Integrated Approach

Yes, we do have chapels and Bible classes, but we also recognize that math is understanding God’s order, science is discovering God’s creation, and history is engaging with His story. Every subject points to our Creator, every thought is held captive to Him, and every person’s life goal is to glorify God. All knowledge is interrelated and can instruct us about God Himself.

Training up children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6) is ultimately a parent’s responsibility. Bringing up children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4) is done most effectively when it includes the 19,000 hours of educational influence your children will experience K-12.

Here, faith is central to all we do as we partner with you to fulfill your God-ordained task of raising your children in the Lord.

Our Distinctives: Statement of Faith

Providence Academy is an interdenominational Christian school not affiliated with a particular local church and enrolling families from a wide variety of local Bible-believing church families. We have over 20 churches represented at Providence, all bound together by a common commitment to Christian faith.

The statements below represent the primary doctrine that we purposefully and clearly teach our students in agreement with our statement of faith. We may discuss matters of secondary doctrine (e.g. modes of baptism or charismatic gifts) in various classes, but will not take dogmatic positions, referring back to families and local churches for final authority.

What We Believe:

We believe the Bible alone to be the only inerrant, authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that, for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary.

We believe the biblical account of the creation of the physical universe, angels, and man; that this account is neither allegory nor myth, but a literal, historical account of the direct, immediate creative acts of God without any evolutionary process; that man was created by a direct work of God and not from previously existing forms of life; and that all men are descended from the historical Adam and Eve, first parents of the entire human race. Genesis 1, 2; Colossians 1:16-17, John 1:3.

We believe that the Bible clearly states that marriage is only between one man and one woman. Genesis 1:26-28, Genesis 2:21-24 and Matthew 19:4-6.

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone.

We believe that faith without works is dead.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved to the resurrection of life, and they that are lost to the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Distinctives: Coram Deo Retreat

“Coram Deo” is Latin for “in the presence of God.” It beautifully captures the heart of Providence Academy’s integrated faith approach. Early in each school year, our Upper School students spend a few days at our offsite Coram Deo Retreat, refocusing on the fact that all of life is in the presence of God and grappling with those implications.

Becoming adults of integrity and virtue starts with reorienting teenagers’ hearts and minds to better understand their personal position before the Creator of the universe. To facilitate this reorientation the students spend extended in the Bible praying and reflecting while surrounded by God’s creation.

Students also participate in volunteer work, chapel services, and friendly competitions during this unique annual retreat, which culminates in a Convocation Ceremony intended to help book-end the school year, with Graduation at the end of the year.
