Training Well-Rounded, Well-Grounded Leaders in the Arts
Performing Arts Program
Educated people are not specialists who know little outside of their field of specialty. They have competence in a variety of areas, including music and arts. Providence Academy provides an academically excellent program that combines intentionally deep core curriculum with surprisingly extensive extracurricular options.
Choir
Teaching children to love singing and how to appreciate truth, goodness & beauty
Concert Band
Playing music and introducing lifelong skills that can serve to worship and glorify God
Drama
Performing powerful stories that communicate truth and equip students in dramatic expression
Choir
All throughout the Bible, we are exhorted and commanded to sing to the Lord, and Providence students are well-equipped to do so with excellence. Music classes starting in 4K cultivate a rich appreciation for music as a means of glorifying God.
- Upper School: Singing opportunities abound through the 9th-12th grade Chamber Singers, Twelve Peers vocal ensemble, Belles Voix Women’s Ensemble, Fratres Armis Men’s Ensemble, and 7th-8th grade Concert Choir, with many superior ratings and award-winning performances at choir festivals and out-of-state contests.
- Lower School: Music classes are required in every grade, with additional development opportunities through the required 5th-6th grade Treble Choir and optional 4th-6th grade Paladin Chorus.

Concert Band
Students receive their first introduction to playing an instrument in 3rd grade by learning the recorder, followed by the ukulele in 4th grade. In 5th grade, they join the 5th Grade Band using Providence-owned instruments, ensuring no additional cost to families. Beginning in 6th grade, students may choose an elective band class, where they are encouraged to continue developing their musical skills.
Band continues to be an elective in grades 7-12, including Music Theory and Instrumental Instruction, with numerous instrumental performance and concert options available for students.

Drama
Stories communicate powerful messages. God used them throughout history to illustrate truth, and drama/theater performance has the potential to mold and shape hearts — both through the preparation and presentation of a chosen story.
Providence holds at least one major drama performance each school year, with open auditions for students and opportunities both on stage and behind the scenes.

Fine Arts
God created a beautiful universe, and as his image bearers, we can glorify Him as we appreciate and imitate the beauty of his creation. We train students with an established aesthetic, by being exposed to artistic masterpieces, particularly at a young age.
Art classes are a standard part of the curriculum in grades 4K through 8, while Art History serves as a specific requirement for graduation. Together, these courses are designed to cultivate artistic interest, ability, creativity, and confidence.
